Usage Notes
In Chinese, 因为 and 所以 are typically used as a pair: 因为……所以…… (because... therefore...). This is more formal and complete. However, in natural conversation you can use either one alone. When used together, both appear at the start of their respective clauses. Note that English sometimes puts "because" in the second clause (I stayed home because it rained), but Chinese commonly puts 因为 first.
