有名 (yǒumíng)

有名 is an adjective meaning famous or well-known. It is not a verb, so do not use it with a direct object. Say 他很有名 (he is very famous), not *他有名了某人. Scope can be specified with 在…很有名 (famous in/among…) or 全国有名 (nationally famous).
