相关 means related to or connected with a particular subject, person, or issue. It is widely used in formal and academic writing to indicate that something is pertinent or relevant, and also in everyday speech to mean "related."

Usage Notes
相关 is very common in formal Chinese as a pre-modifier: 相关部门 (relevant departments), 相关规定 (relevant regulations), 相关研究 (related research). It can also be used predicatively: X 与 Y 相关 (X is related to Y) or X 与 Y 密切相关 (X is closely related to Y). In statistics, 相关性 (xiāngguān xìng) means "correlation."
