Usage Notes

管理 can also be used reflexively with 自己: 管理自己的情绪 (to manage one's own emotions). In modern Chinese business vocabulary, 管理层 (management tier/executives) and 管理者 (manager/administrator) are commonly used nouns derived from 管理. It is more formal than 管 alone, which is colloquial and means "to be in charge of/to care about."
