Usage Notes
陶醉 always has a pleasurable, positive connotation -- one is enraptured by something beautiful or joyful. It is distinct from 沉迷 (chénmí, to be addicted/obsessed), which has a more negative connotation of unhealthy absorption. The pattern 陶醉于... (to be enchanted by...) and 陶醉其中 (to be lost/absorbed in it) are the most common sentence structures.
Note that 陶醉 can sometimes be used ironically, as in 陶醉自我 (self-absorbed, lost in self-admiration), adding a mild negative shade.
