Usage Notes

报道 can function as both a verb (to report) and a noun (a report/coverage). The very similar term 报告 (bàogào) also means report, but 报告 is more formal and refers to official written reports, speeches, or findings (annual report, work report), while 报道 is specifically for journalism and news coverage.
