积极 has two related senses. As a description of attitude, it means proactive, enthusiastic, or willing to take action. As a description of effects, it means positive or constructive (e.g., 积极作用, 积极影响).

Its antonym is 消极 (xiāojí, negative/passive). Note that 积极 in the sense of "positive effects" is slightly more formal; in everyday speech, 好的影响 (good influence) might be used instead.
