Usage Notes

结论 is a formal noun used in academic writing, reporting, and logical argumentation. The standard verb collocations are 得出结论 (reach a conclusion through process) and 下结论 (make a judgement/ruling -- slightly more decisive).

In essays and reports, the 结论 section is where the author synthesises findings. Note that 结论 refers to a reasoned outcome, not a personal opinion; for opinions use 观点 (viewpoint) or 看法 (view).
