A1 Lessons
15 structured lessons taking you from zero to A1 Esperanto proficiency.
The A1 Learning Path
This course takes you from absolute beginner to A1 proficiency in Esperanto through 15 structured lessons. Each lesson introduces new vocabulary, explains grammar patterns with clear examples and common mistakes to avoid, provides a realistic dialogue, and includes three practice exercises. A cultural note in each lesson connects the language to the living Esperanto community.
The A1 level covers all the grammatical foundations of Esperanto — the word endings, the core suffixes and prefixes, the correlative system, and the basic sentence patterns — alongside the vocabulary you need for everyday survival: greetings, numbers, family, food, home, shopping, directions, weather, health, and daily routines.
By the end of Lesson 15, you will be able to hold a simple conversation, navigate practical situations, and read basic texts in Esperanto.

How to Use These Lessons
- Study one lesson per session. Each lesson takes approximately 45–60 minutes to work through fully.
- Do the exercises before checking answers. Active recall is more effective than passive reading.
- Read the dialogue aloud. Pronunciation practice is built into every lesson.
- Return to the review lesson (15) regularly — even after moving to A2 — as a reference and confidence check.
- Use the vocabulary tables as flashcard sources. Every table row is a ready-made flashcard.
After completing all 15 lessons, proceed to the A2 level to continue building your Esperanto proficiency.
